Hugh Hefner,Playboy Magazine Founder and Star of Girls Next Door, Dies at 91

“Hugh M. Hefner, the American icon who in 1953 introduced the world to  Playboy magazine and built the company into one of the most recognizable American global brands in history, peacefully passed away today from natural causes at his home, The Playboy Mansion, surrounded by loved ones,” a rep for the Playboy Enterprises founder said in a statement to PEOPLE. “My father lived an exceptional and impactful life as a media and cultural pioneer and a leading voice behind some of the most significant social and cultural movements of our time in advocating free speech, civil rights and sexual freedom. He defined a lifestyle and ethos that lie at the heart of the Playboy brand, one of the most recognizable and enduring in history. He will be greatly missed by many, including his wife Crystal, my sister Christie and my brothers David and Marston, and all of us at Playboy Enterprises,” said Cooper Hefner, his son and Chief Creative Officer of Playboy Enterprises.   After serving in the army an

Hugh Hefner’s Neighbor Buys Playboy Mansion

It’s the end of an era: The Playboy Mansion has sold! The Playboy Mansion is in escrow with nearby neighbor Daren Metropoulos as the buyer, a Playboy spokesperson told PEOPLE. Although they can confirm the house is in contract, the representative declined to give additional details, including the sale price. The iconic site located in Los Angeles was listed in January for $200 million. Besides the steep price tag, the sale also comes with another stipulation: The buyer has to allow Hugh Hefner a life estate so he can remain in the home until his death. But Metropoulos, 32, seems to be up for it, as PEOPLE can confirm that  Hefner  and wife, Crystal, will continue to live in the Mansion. This isn’t Metropoulos’s first experience with Hefner in the real estate market, either. In 2009, Metropoulos, a principal at private-equity firm Metropoulos & Co., purchased his current property from Hefner for $18 million, according to  The Wall Street Journal . At 20,000 square feet, the Playboy

Hurricanes Harvey and Irma offer sobering lessons in the power of nature

MIAMI — The astonishing hurricanes of 2017, Harvey and Irma, have provided a sobering lesson in the power of nature, along with some modest reassurance about how Americans respond when calm blue skies turn a violent gray. The next test could come sooner than anyone wants. This stormy hurricane season is a long way from over, and there are ominous stirrings in the Atlantic, which has a history of brewing tropical cyclones that spin toward the United States. Hurricane Jose has been loitering in the Atlantic and might be preparing a run toward the East Coast this week. And Hurricane Maria is expected to hit the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean on Monday. While Texas and the Southeast pick up after significant wind and flood damage, the welcome news from the Harvey and Irma hurricanes is that, in a crisis, neighbors help neighbors. The government did not stumble and bumble as it did initially during the Hurricane Katrina disaster of 2005. Improved storm track forecasts gave millions of pe

#LET IT OUT

Darkness cannot drive out darkness Only light can Hate cannot drive out hate Only love can..... We always expect to get what we want and fail to look at the bigger picture of the what we need that life gives to us.... D light in you is bigger than the anger, than the stubbornness and the pride in you.  Its OK to be angry, it's good but learn to forgive and let go of it easily, it's beautiful to be stubborn, but when it's too much, it consumes ones mind and deprives one from real happiness and freedom...  While pride is the greatest liar that can ever possess man, it makes everything seem and look very OK and in control until it's too late to make amends and at last it fleas and abandons one,  and all that remains is regret... But the light in you is bigger and brighter than your stubbornness, anger and pride... Let It Out.... It's now before its too late... You Can and you will....

#LOVE - Pleasure or Pain?

Love is a variety of different emotional and mental states, typically strongly and positively experienced, that ranges from deepest interpersonal affection to simple pleasure. An example of this range of meanings is that the love of a mother differs from the love of a spouse differs from the love of food. Most commonly, love refers to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment. It could also be a virtue representing human kindness, compassion and affection.
